News & Updates
More in-person classes available! Online classes extended!
Visit Yoga Class Schedule and Online Yoga Schedule to view our current time table. More classes are being opened up! Unable to get a spot for yoga class? (Our apologies!) Worried about infection exposure? We are extending our online class option to help with this current situation. Those of you who are worried about lack of props and equipment at home, the online classes have been working decently well with prop improvisation such as cushions, towels, stools, boxes, and even suitcases! Otherwise yoga mats and props are available for purchase too! Please register by contacting practice@oasisyoga.sg or call 64422881. |
Gradual Re-opening of Oasis for Phase 2 (update)
Dear Everyone, Thank you to all who have responded regarding the re-opening of Oasis. Some of you have shared much enthusiasm for returning to class, and some have valid concerns. We will be opening up classes gradually and in small stages. I have requested for Erika to start her classes in a couple of weeks (at least) and will be covering her classes that we are able to open up in the meantime (worry about her due to her age). Likewise, I would also request for those of you who are more senior (in age) or have health concerns, to return to in-person classes at a slightly later date. That way we have this period to observe the infection numbers since the commencement of Phase 2. The latest guidelines we received from the Sports Council is that the group size for classes are capped at 5 participants, excluding the teacher (total 6). We have made some enquiries and will maintain these guidelines till we have further information and adjust accordingly. Safe distancing measures are 1 metre apart; and 2 metres apart during classes. Yoga is not considered high intensity, thus 2m safe distancing; while some other activities are considered high intensity, then 3m safe distancing applies. Mandatory are SafeEntry check-in and check-out, wearing of masks while not engaged in strenuous activity. All students attending classes in person are requested to:
Concern regarding the disinfecting of equipment has been brought up. We have sent the blankets for laundry cleaning for worry of dust or mold during the past months. However due to the limited resources of our set-up, we are unable to disinfect these after each class. For those who are concerned about these issues, do consider bringing your own equipment/ props, or the online classes, or returning to in-person classes at a later stage. I will be attempting simultaneous online classes while conducting the in-person classes from now to July, and based on how things go this next week, see what format to continue according to the Phase 2 situation. Should you miss out a spot for the in-person class, do register for another timeslot or participate in the online sessions! Angie and Su Unn are still continuing the online sessions for June, and we are assessing possible online options for the near future at least. I will be contacting those of you who have shown interest in the classes, in a separate email, offline or online regarding the classes for the coming week. For those of you who have reservations or other reasons, do be in touch with us at any time when you are ready. Thank you and looking forward to seeing you soon! Warm Regards, Timothy |
Phase 2 of Singapore Post Circuit Breaker Measures
Dear Everyone, Singapore is entering Phase 2 this Saturday (20 June 2020)! We are assessing the potential of re-opening (or partially) classes (and to what extent), while keeping to the safe distancing measures. Should you be keen to resume classes, please be in touch with us or your teacher! Kindly email practice@oasisyoga.sg with your response. This will help us immensely with our scheduling, as well as preparation of Oasis. Thank you and look forward to seeing you (1 metre apart) again very soon! Love, Oasis |
Update of Schedule for Online Classes (May 2020); Postponement of Re-Opening of Oasis
Dear Everyone, With the extension of the circuit breaker, the reopening of Oasis is postponed to 2nd June 2020. April came and went and we now have one more month to stay home (and stay safe!). We are glad to hear from many of you how much you enjoyed and benefited from the online yoga sessions that were organised in April. Oasis is adding more timeslots (and some schedule adjustments) for the month of May. For those who missed the sessions in April, it is not too late to join in! For the latest online schedule and registration details, click to view the Online Schedule. Or visit this link: http://www.oasisyoga.sg/schedule/online Many of you have also expressed concern about the teachers and Oasis. As we too are concerned about the livelihood of many, we will be postponing fees for another month. For those of you who are keen to support the teachers and Oasis, we would be most glad and appreciative of any dana (or dakshina) contributions. A big thank you to all who have been extremely thoughtful, kind and generous during this time. Information about Dana / Dakshina and arrangements, click to view more Details about Dana. Or visit this link: http://www.oasisyoga.sg/schedule/online/dana-contributions-for-online-sessions The yoga mat promotion will be also extended for another month, so order your mats and props and get started for May! It’s never too late! We look forward to seeing you online soon, and in real life (hopefully) from 2nd June 2020! Love, Oasis |
Updated Online Classes with Oasis
Dear everyone, Once again for the continual kind words, generosity and well wishes, we are very much heartened and appreciate the thoughts and gestures. We are looking at more ways to support each other during this time. In addition to the sessions with Angie earlier highlighted, we will be trying out some additional sessions with Timothy. Saturdays Guided Practice Class (General / Intermediate) 7 to 9am with Timothy Khoo Guided Practice Class (Beginners) 9:15 to 10:45am with Timothy Khoo Sundays Q & A / Discussion (Beginner to Intermediate) 8:30 to 9:30am with Timothy Khoo The Guided Practice Class is slightly similar to the existing Practice Class at Oasis with Timothy, but more supervised than usual to help those who are more unfamiliar, thus, please register for the appropriate level. The Q & A and discussion is open to all students of Oasis, and likely will evolve over the coming weeks as we grapple with practicing under these circumstances. Initially some simple sequences may be shared to get the newer ones started off, and we can all learn from each other’s questions and difficulties. As these would likely develop and adapt over the course of this period, consistency in participation is highly encouraged. View the current Online Yoga Sessions schedule here: http://www.oasisyoga.sg/schedule/online More information: http://www.oasisyoga.sg/schedule/online/online-yoga-more-info As the situation changes, we will adjust and adapt accordingly, stay tuned for more updates.. Looking forward to hearing and seeing (remotely) you soon! Love, Oasis |
